Susan Bernstein, Job Search Gym Founder & Career Coach

I am passionate about helping people to do work that really fits for them.  I love to show people how to translate their talents and passions so they attract the attention of hiring managers.  I've been one of those hiring managers, too! 

Before becoming a career coach in 2001, I spent nearly 20 years in marketing, management consulting, and executive development roles. At Accenture, I crafted strategies for Fortune 500 retail and healthcare clients. I also developed the Advanced Management Program, a mini-MBA to help fast-track new managers with core business analytics. For Intel, I created innovative tools to increase salesforce productivity. For a company acquired by Franklin-Covey, I developed and marketed new time management training products to leading corporations. I also launched a company to help children exponentially increase their learning capacity.

Working with me, you get solid business expertise.  I earned an MBA at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and a PhD in Somatic Psychology from the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute.  My doctoral research investigates the career transition process.  I share with you my advanced training in experiential learning, motivation, self-efficacy, transformational processes, holistic learning, philosophy, and psychology. 

In addition to coaching participants in the Job Search Gym, I am also the founder of Work from Within. Through the Work from coaching practice, I support high-energy, self-reflective people who crave more meaning in their work, relationships, and life. The Work from Within(tm) approach invites you to look within yourself in new and innovative ways, so you gain clarity about what you really want and build the self-confidence to pursue what’s really important to you -- from the inside-out.
